Découvrir le nord de la Norvège en plein hiver nous fait rêver depuis plusieurs années. Ses villages de pêcheurs, ses montagnes qui tombent à pic dans la mer, de la neige à perte de vue… Mais voyager en hiver pour une personne en fauteuil roulant pose évidemment plus de questions qu’à l’accoutumée : Comment se déplacer facilement ? Comment s’adapter au froid quand on n’a pas de sensibilité ? Y a-t-il des activités adaptées tout au nord de l’Europe ?

La région de Saguenay – Lac Saint-Jean est la première étape d’un séjour de 3 semaines dans la région de Québec. Voyager en fauteuil roulant : le slow Travel est-il possible ?

Le concept du slow travel consiste à savourer pleinement chaque moment du voyage, en transformant le trajet en une aventure aussi enrichissante que la destination elle-même. Cependant, voyager hors des sentiers battus, que ce soit à pied ou à vélo, peut s’avérer être un défi de taille pour les personnes en fauteuil roulant.

Nous allons vite nous rendre compte que Toulouse est une ville accessible et extrêmement facile à vivre quand on est en fauteuil roulant qu’il soit manuel ou électrique.

Bordeaux est la première étape d’un voyage qui nous emmène jusqu’à Toulouse en passant par le Canal des Deux Mers. Nous y restons 3 jours, le temps de découvrir son centre historique, deux espaces culturels incontournables (la Cité du Vin et les Bassins des Lumières) avant de terminer par une dégustation de vin les pieds dans les vignes ! 

Bordeaux est une ville très accessible en fauteuil roulant. On se déplace facilement grâce au tram et aux bus. Les rues du centre-ville ont aussi été réaménagées pour permettre à tous de profiter pleinement de la vie bordelaise !

Netherlands: 5 days off the beaten track

After a few days in northern Germany, we took a train from Hamburg to Rotterdam. Once again, we realized that Europe is more than accessible by train when you're in a wheelchair. Deutsch-Bahn and Thalys are the most efficient companies for getting to Northern Europe!

Once again, our prejudices are going to be put to the test with a stay far off the beaten track! From Rotterdam, an industrial city bathed in street art, we head north to the Beemster region and the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage site...

Germany: 3 days on the north coast

We spent 3 days discovering northern Germany, an undiscovered region brimming with unsuspected treasures. Forget all your preconceived ideas about capricious weather and a lack of interesting activities, because you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Culture and history await you in the Hanseatic cities, while breathtaking scenery and the harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity in Hamburg will leave you breathless.

This region is easily accessible by train from France. What's more, if you're in a wheelchair, you'll also be able to enjoy the region to the full, with transport and activities accessible to all thanks to special facilities.

A week in the heart of Tyrol

La Plagne, the handiskiing paradise
